I cannot believe we elected this man twice. The President' s final press conference was in some ways a fitting end to the man's Presidency. It was all on display. The unwavering confidence in his decisions, despite what the rest of the world thinks of him. He does not agree that America's moral authority has diminished on his watch??? Check ANY poll by ANY pollster on the matter. The Federal response to Katrina WASN'T slow??? I lived in New Orleans during Katrina. Trust me Mr. President, it was slow.
The President actually told a live television audience that he considers himself a "Type A" personality. Wikipedia defines Type A Personality as "individuals who can be described as impatient, excessively time-conscious, insecure about their status, highly competitive, hostile and aggressive, and incapable of relaxation. [1] They are often high achieving workaholics who multi-task, drive themselves with deadlines, and are unhappy about the smallest of delays." I must admit I initially thought the President was way off base because I associated Type A primarily with the high achieving workaholics (which he definitely is NOT). But upon reading the entirety of the definition I have concluded he certainly fits the definition minus the work ethic.
The President tried at times during this final press conference to be funny, angry, defiant, and reflective. The problem is that it was obvious that everyone in the room is ready for the cowboy to ride off into the sunset. I have studied a little Presidential history, certainly not enough to be an expert but enough to be considered knowledgeable. President Bush has to go down in history as one of the worst President's in our nation's history. Good riddance.
